Whales Never Die – Abazar Hamid doing “Jokke” Nielsen’s songs

12.01.2018

- We are not here to live like strangers, we sing to Mahmoud to tell who we are, and through the songs of Joachim "Jokke" Nielsen we can investigate where we are, says musician Abazar Hamid, Norway's first Safe Haven Musician who was the guest artist in Safe Haven Harstad 2014-2017.

- I promise nothing but wish everyone welcome as a witness to this tribute, he continues.

Whales Never Die is an Afro-Norwegian musical dialogue with Abazar exploring the music and lyrics of the legendary Norwegian rocker and poet Joachim Nielsen (1964-2000) considered one of the greatest songwriters in Norway.

Host for this concert is author Yassin Sulaiman, who has written a book about Mahmud Abdul Aziz (Premeditation). Other participants are the musicians Morton Zakaria and Jiddo.
